I think I’ll start a new bit on reviewing restaurants. If I get going to a new one once a week, say on a saturday, I’ll be only delighted.
This week though, I’ve managed to hit two. Firstly, Yammamori. Great Japanese spot. Lovely staff. I had beef teryaki (I’m lost on spelling). It was yummy! It was beef done how I asked for on a bed of stir-fried vegetables soaked in a sweet sauce with a bowl of rice. I did my best with the chopsticks but alas, I still haven’t got the hang. I caved and asked for a knife and fork. Cheaper than Wagamamas too! I’ll deffo go back.
During the week, myself, Jim and DMcg hit the Korean spot known as East. This place is very out of the way and I only by chance noticed it out of the corner of my eye. We decided to give it a lash. We were delighted to see that they had a pre-theatre menu as we were on our way to the theatre. How fitting. To start, Dave had seaweed salad, Jim had sushi and I had beef of sorts. But the guy gave it to us in such a way so we could all share! It was great! The for main, Jim ordered a big plate of chicken something. Looked tasty. Dave and myself got a sizzling beef of sorts. But here’s the great part. There’s a grill on the table and he came out with the raw dish and cooked it in front of us! It was amazing. And delicious. We all got 3 side plates of various bits as a side too. I had chocolate fudge cake for desert, Dave had NY cheesecake and…I forget what Jim had. Again, all yummy. And here’s the punch line – all for only 20 quid!! Amazing scenes. Really a great place and I would well recommend it.
Thats quite a lot of Asia for this week. I’ll go for either Italian or Mexican next week. Stay tuned!
