Who remembers this?
Ow. My ears! But shockingly, back in 2001/2002 we as a nation were beyond obsessed with it. It is currently the third highest selling single ever in the country. I remember my own obsession with it. But sure you couldn’t miss it. It was everywhere. Scary stuff. Did you listen to the lyrics? Nonsense even by my standards and I like a lot of crap. Nadine Coyle certainly did well out of the whole thing. Remember, she was set to be in the band! But then she lied about her age and they caught her out. Tutut. And now shes part of Girls Aloud, worth millions and far more famous than the six of them. Unless you’re from Cobh, County Cork where Sinead Sheppard from the band is running in the local elections for Fine Gael. And more surprisingly, its a cover! Of a song out of Guys and Dolls. A musical I have yet to see.
Before I do see it though, I will be seeing RENT for the 2nd time, this time in the Olympia. Well done to all in DCU Drama for such an achievement! Although I personally don’t like RENT as a musical, their performance of it is nothing short of outstanding and I cannot wait to see it again. Then, it’ll be off to see Annie!
It’s not actually from Guys and Dolls. I think it’s by a band called Guys and Dolls.
Ohhh! I see. Thanks for that Joey!
